New property listed in Petersburg
I have listed a new property at 2345 SNYDER'S Road East in Petersburg.
This spectacular 2 storey century home has over 4,000 sqft of finished living space plus a 1,500 sqft unfinished basement. It is located in the quint town of Petersburg, next to the Kitchener city limits. A gorgeous rural setting on 1.6 acres and backing onto farmland. Many years ago the home was separated into 5 units making this a fantastic 5 plex which is the current use. It can easily be converted back to a single family home. There are 3 walk up attic entrances, 3 basement access doors and you can still see the leading doors through the home which are currently closed off for each unit. This is an ever changing area of town with lots of older homes being converted and new homes being built. There is a beautiful 3 bedroom unit at the back of the house which could be kept and used as a great granny flat. You are minutes away from the 7&8 hwy, public transit and all the amenities you need on the boardwalk. A new build construction is also an option but you can not severe into multiple lots. There are two working wells on the property and a regularly maintained specific system. This is a truly unique property with so much opportunity and potential. You have to see it to believe it! Home Made Ant Killer

HOME MADE ANT HACK

Every spring we have an explosion of ants around our home. If you are anything like me you might see them around and think nothing of it. My husband who is a contractor and also very observant has taught and shown me over the years how truly destuctive ants can be. Once while replacing a patio door we came to realize the entire frame work around the door was an ants nest and completely rotted. I had seen the odd ant around our deck but disregarded them. I mean we were outside, ants live outside! What I didn't realize was the damage they were creating. Last summer we found ants taking over the inside of our shed. So it goes without saying, be observant to insects in and around your house. They can be damaging to your home without realizing and cost hundreds to thousands of dollars worth of damage.

We have tried all sorts of expensive sprays, oils, drops and sticky pads. What I have found to work the best over the years is a home made solution. It is very simple and cheap to make, can go a long way and is very effective.

1/2 Cup White Sugar

1 1/2 tlbs Borax (found in the laundry isle)

1 1/2 Cups Hot water

Cotton Balls - this amount will soak approximatley 2 cups of cotton balls.

Mix the solution together until everything is dissolved. Then drop the cotton balls in to soak. Place the cotton balls around your home, in your garage and sheds and watch the ants go crazy.  I suggest placing the cotton balls on a piece of parchment paper if in the house to make clean up easier. The sugar attracts the ants and they take the solution back to the nest. Within 24-48 hours you will have great results. When the cotton balls dry out after a couple days you can wet them and place them out again for a couple days or discard.  Repeate this as needed throught the year espcially in the spring. Becarful of placement if you have animals and children around as Borax can be a poisonous chemical if ingested.

Landscaping Don't

Helpful Tips From A Helpful Realtor! You could be flooding the basement in your home without even realizing it. Landscaping that slopes toward your home could potentially lead to a wet basement. The rain is directed toward your foundation and may pool and seep down. Keep your drainage in mind when gardening. Check that all your eavestroughs are cleaned out, your downspouts are attached and they are directed away from your home. These are a few easy things to do to keep your basement dry and water free. When buying a home you should always take note to the exterior of the building. Follow me at: Instagram : @patriciakingedge Facebook: @patriciakingedge
